Wouldn't You Know It...
Wouldn't you know, just when I'm wrapping up one series the main character tells me what happened to another character in another series in which a few of his friends made a guest appearance...Thanks, Allen! While I can't reveal yet exactly what the event was, I can say one word...Alli. When I figure out the rest, I'll let you know. ;)
Yes, Identity fans, I'm very close to having a definite release date for Allen's story Assumed Calling, but right now it looks like it'll be making a November appearance. Allen's story ended up becoming quite a bit more complicated than the previous four stories and there are a lot of intricacies which must be thoroughly edited to ensure I'm not giving you a plot hole somewhere. What started out as a simple enough daddy syndrome fantasy story ended up being a story filled with intrigue complete with a visit from one of Kyle Montgomery's Steele Image black ops teams. I know, I know...where the flying fig did that come from?
Well, for those who've not read the Force Recon series (first two books anyway, book three has been on indefinite hold for a while due to writer scheduling conflicts--they're anthologies written unlike any anthology you've ever read), it's revealed in book two, Somalia, that Master Kyle runs an underground mercenary business fronted by the club Steele Image from Identity book two, True Identity. Confused yet? :) Don't be it's much simpler than you think.
So, with the fact in mind, Kyle's business is a front, he and a few of his men make an appearance in Assumed Calling as it turns out Allen has a very nasty ghost from his past haunting him....and making it nearly impossible for him to maintain his relationship with Nicki--did I mention she's a senator's daughter?
Anywho...there it is...Allen's story is complicated, needs special attention from my editos, and should hit shelves sometime in November...
What's next? Well, as soon as I get A Slower Lower Leap all tied up and sent away to the press, I'm not sure. But before you toss tomatoes and shoes, never fear. There are plenty of ideas, I'm just toying with which one comes first. No the well's not dry, in fact it's full to the brim, I'm just toying with where I want to go next. I have a couple of stand alones which need finished up, one is a BDSM about a marine and a girl who's into the lifestyle for all the wrong reasons and another is about an anthropologist--yeah, I know. Way out of my box on that one. I have my husband doing some heavy-duty research into prostitution in Okinawa for another series I have in the planning stages (he's stationed there right now and has access to the people that have all the answers--and no not the actual prostitutes--hehe, and I trust him even if he was interviewing the ladies), I have a series based on marriages of convenience all noted up, and, and I do believe this is the one that would win the vote of many a reader of mine...
There's the Steele Image series, which I'm working on the actual series title for. And, big yellow arrow showed up next to the Toy Box Tales stories I had prepped for production when I decided to give my readers the attention they deserve, because y'all are the most loyal, faithful people a writer could wish for, pointing the way to where those should be. Those stories will in fact be turned into full-length works and will be woven into the Steele Image series since it is implied and later found out that Kyle owns the Toy Boxes anyway. They will be renamed however. BethAnn Buehler will be taking her stories from that series and running with them in another direction and I can't wait to see what she has in mind for them. Should be good though. :)
So, readers, what would you like to see next?
I'll be hanging out at Sarah Bella's She Likes it Verbal today...come on over and catch my take on keeping the conversation going in the bedroom...
A great big thank you to all the fans, friends, writers and readers who came out for the Fall Into Reading event--it will stay live until Friday midnight, so there is still time to enter to win those prizes. Thanks Melissa Keir for coming over and playing Flash Me Friday with me over the weekend, we had a lot of visitors and I had a lot of fun with it. Hope you and a few of our other writer friends can come by for that this week. The pic this week is pretty hot. I have my flash all ready to post.
Thanks for coming by and having coffee with me today...Have a great week everyone and I'll see you back here for some Wednesday Whims!

Hi Susie! Force Recon Beacon Bayou is book one in that series followed by Force Recon Somalia. Got to work with some amazing writers on those project. LOL...he did, didn't he? I do believe Kyle is going to be book one in the Steele Image series, it's about time he got his own story and his very own heroine. :) Thanks for stopping by! It's always good to find you here. ;)
DeleteIt is exciting to hear that you are overflowing with ideas. :) How fun that your hubby was just heading to Okinawa as my BIL was leaving!
