White Thigh Highs by Melissa Keir
It had been a long week at work. The students were crazy with the approaching holiday vacation. They could hardly sit in their seats.
Thank God, it’s Friday, Shelby thought as she walked to her silver corvette convertible.
Most teachers couldn’t afford an expensive car like the 2012 dream machine that Shelby was climbing into. A teacher’s salary wasn’t enough to support a decent living for anyone living in Livingston County. Housing prices weren’t the only thing high. Gas and groceries were also double what most people paid back in Ohio where Shelby used to live.
Cranking up the radio to an oldies station, Shelby sang along with the Carpenters who were singing about just beginning. Shelby knew all about new beginnings. She’d escaped Ohio after the disasterous relationship with a professional football player. Too late for her heart, she found out that he was only using her and was in fact married. Needing to change her life in an impressive way, she packed up her things and headed down Interstate 90 west, toward Chicago. But when she saw a sign for the newest casino in Toledo, she stopped and went inside. Little did Shelby know but that detour would change her life.
Parking the silver vette in the VIP lot, Shelby headed into the casino. The bells of the slot machines were loud in her ears. The bright lights of the casnio floor pulled her into the carpeted mosh pit of wishes and dreams as people plugged money and cards into the machines.
But it was the beat of the music from the stage that drew Shelby’s gaze. Shelby saunterd backstage and pulled on the white thigh highs as the music began her set.

Cooper’s Courtesan, Lila Munro
Candice knew from the beginning, knew she’d have Cooper if it was the last thing she did. When he’d snagged the lead as Romeo to that bitch Dallas’ Juliet and Candice had only managed to be cast as one of the “village people”, she made it her semester’s work to seduce Cooper and draw his indigo eyes from Dallas’ cleavage.
For Christ’s sake, Candice was a senior vying for class Valedictorian. Who the hell did Dallas think she was anyway? Little snot-nosed freshman. Cooper had been Candice’s obsession since Biology 210 when he’d shared her lack of enthusiasm for the mating habits of Gnus.
As the curtain went down on the last performance of the season, she sprinted as quickly as the white, velvet, medieval torture devices on her feet would allow. Down the back stage steps, down the crowded hall filled with waiting fans, and out the side exit she ran across campus to the Sigma Chi house. Not bothering with a knock, she bolted through the front door and up the stairs the whistles of Cooper’s brothers following her.
In his room, she quickly shed the heavy gown now damp with sweat and tossed it to the floor, took a quick glance in his mirror to ensure her hair piled high on her head was still intact, then tossed back the covers draping his bed and spread herself out, like a feast. A feast complete with white thigh highs and even whiter corset. She left the period shoes on for effect and waited.
Not minutes later, Cooper waltzed through the door still clad in his tights and cod piece.
“Candice,” he whispered, his eyes growing dark with…desire? Good.
“Care to tumble, my lord?” she asked with wide-eyed innocence.
“I thought you’d never ask…”
